AppKu™ Energy often denoted with a lightning-bolt icon ⚡ , is our unit of service for services rendered for an organization on an active AppKu™ Plan.

A single unit of ⚡ energy represents our team's approximation of complexity (expertise), effort (time), and blurriness (unknowns) regarding the fulfillment of the service (i.e. the work we do for you).

As our team works with your team and on your information systems, they claim ⚡ energy from your available balance which can be allocated at an organization level, or by project, as you see fit. You may see a regular summary of your balance shown as such:

⚡ Energy Balance
Prior Balance 843 ⚡
Spend-121.25 ⚡
New Balance 721.75 ⚡

The AppKu™ Plan operates on a monthly cycle, and recomputes your available balance(s) as work is completed. So at the start of the month you will see the Prior Balance (last month's starting balance), the Spend (total claimed since the start of last month), and the New Balance (which is the Prior Balance minus the Spend, and is the new month's starting balance).

When estimating timelines, it's helpful to imagine that each ⚡ energy is approximately 1 business hour, though that is not exactly what it represents (you are omitting the consideration of complexity and blurriness).
